Kitchen tables, borrowed jugs and the low sun across a floor: the rooms I return to when the weather keeps me in.

N° 01 — About the series
When the sea is too wild to paint I turn round and paint the room instead. These are small, slow paintings of ordinary things: a jug on the table, a chair by the window, the yellow of a lamp at four o’clock.
I paint them on board, in thin layers, over several weeks, and I keep them small enough to hold.
Several of these paintings are now in private collections in Cornwall, London and Copenhagen.
